As the Plant Powered Chefs we provide professional food services including catering and personal chef services for individuals, families, and organizations who want to eat more healthy plant-based, vegan, or whole-foods options. Our specialty is preparing whole-foods plant-based foods without oil. 

We are proud graduates of the T. Colin Campbell Program in plant-based nutrition in partnership with Cornell University, we believe in food as medicine and as equity. 

In addition to meal prep and catering services, we consult on putting the plant-based lifestyle into practice via 1-1 coaching for athletes, heart patients, and diabetics. 

Our recipes are influenced by New American, Mexican, Central American, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Spanish, Italian, French, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, North Indian, South Indian, West Indian, and North African flavors.

Whether you are gluten free, soy free, oil free and/or on a low sodium diet our service offerings will accommodate your requests.

 

OUR JOURNEY TO PLANT BASED

For us becoming plant based was a gradual transition at first but once we got started, with the help of films the Game Changers and Forks Over Knives, we discovered the evidence about plant nutrition. We started to learn from physicians and experts like T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Greger, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr. Michael Klaper and others. Also cool - just Google plant based athletes and see what you find- impressive names like Lewis Hamilton, Serena Williams, CP3, Virat Kholi and others.

The second factor that prompted us to change our lifestyle was that it became increasingly hard to avoid the evidence that adopting a plant-based diet is the single most effective action humans can take to combat global climate change.

Do we still treat our selves at times to sweet bites, fried foods, processed meat alternatives, nut cheeses, and oil based spreads or sauces? You bet. Plant-based as a lifestyle, is growing, we love being part of this community. We do our best to give back by volunteering our time at cooking demos and workshops in partnerships with various community organizations. We love the opportunity to talk about food equity as economic prosperity. Always looking for recommendations for vegan and plant-based hotspots around New York City.

We are fortunate to have a curated group of friends that supports us and family that encourages us. We started Plant Powered Chefs to pay that forward. As part of our philosophy we do not vilify others for their lifestyle choices as evidenced by the diversity your our clients- some of which are 100% WFPB while others are simply trying to eat more plants in any capacity.
